it's hard being a momma to an 8 year old and a 45 year old y'all. i don't know whether to put the 8 year old out and beat the 45 year old's ass or just pack my shyt and leave. they have been really stressing me lately.
tonight they just kept bickering back and forth until i wanted to gag them both and put them in separate closets. instead, i turned off the t.v. and unplugged it.
et voila!
silence.
the oldest slunk off to his room and the youngest had to be coerced into doing the same.
i relished being alone for all of 10 minutes. then the old dude comes back and plugs the telly back in. i raised my hackles, bared my teeth, barked and--whooo--i got him to back down. i was left in peace.
finally convinced that i would have meaningful time alone, i turned off the lights and turned on my media player.
ahhhh the music, the music! as it washed over me it soothed my soul. i know i joke a lot and i'm usually overdramatizing. this here is no exaggeration. i needed my music like an alkie be needin' that drank!
but horror of horrors, one of my favorite play lists was somehow deleted when i upgraded the media player software. so i had to set about creating a replacement.
i clicked on one to listen to as i scrolled through my options. which set the auto play (that's what i call it) in motion so i could listen to other songs on the list as i created it. before i knew it, i'd created a 3-hour long list. dang it! i didn't have half the songs i wanted on it so i decided i'd do two lists. but before i could start on my 2nd list, 24 was coming on.
game over.
