people are funny.
why is it that people don't remember the things they do?
selective memory? too much to drink last night? told so many lies that it's hard to keep up?
today i saw a person i know but hadn't talked to in a few months because of how our last conversation went.
by his/her tone of voice, i felt like s/he was annoyed that i called. and his/her words were kinda inappropriate. so i decided that would be the last time i called that person. s/he was a fairly new acquaintance and the last thing i need is a friend who sounds annoyed when i call and says words i wouldn't say to a person i considered a friend.
in his/her defense he/she may have had a lil too much to drink by the time i rang. from previous observations, i'm pretty sure this person could drink otis (from the andy griffin show) under the table so i wouldn't be surprised if intoxication WAS the case.
so any way, at our chance meeting, the person made mention of me not returning a voice message s/he left me 3 MONTHS AGO.
huh?!
you don't remember your actions but you remember that i didn't return a 3-month old message? or maybe you just considered what you did to be cool. LOL
but guess what? it wasn't cool with me and it still ain't. i have forgiven you, no doubt. but i haven't forgotten.
i see no point in hanging out with drunks who don't know what to say out of their mouths. those are the type of folks who can get a sista killed.
i'm betting other acquaintances have felt the same way and have stopped calling too. was that why you asked if i still had your number and said "gimme a call sometime"?
now, you KNOW i told you i don't do drama. calling you would saturate me in a bunch of mess i ain't down with.
so please don't wait for my call. the next time you talk to me will be another chance meeting in the street.
