friday was a busy day for my daughter and i.
we woke up later than we'd hoped but still had time to get everything done.
after we got showered and shod, we headed out into the heat. it wasn't super hot cuz there was a breeze blowing. a warm breeze but still, it was blowing.
we fought mid-day traffic to get about a mile down the road to the bank. i hate banking on fridays but what's a sista to do? that's pay day for most folk and we're on that list. we survived the parking lot intact and tipped into the bank, where we were warmly greeted by the personable bank employees.
tho the parking lot was full, there weren't too many folk in the bank. that was weird cuz the bank is not next door to a bar and it's miles away from stores.
*shrug*
it took me about 5 minutes to fill out the deposit slip, complete my transaction, and head back to my car. on the way out i held the door for the person behind me and noticed it was the SUV driver who tailgated me into the parking lot and almost rammed me after i put on my double blinker and backed into my space. i thought it was funny that she jammed her truck into the parking space, jumped out of her vehicle, then hauled it into the bank like her ass was on fire -- a full two minutes ahead of me cuz it took me a while longer to get into the space this time -- but she was exiting the bank after me.
i guess she was in a mighty important hurry but dammit, don't frig up my ish cuz you can't manage your time wisely. and why is it that ole nasty people who pull in give me dirty looks cuz i like to back in?
for me it makes much mo' sense for me to take a lil bit more time (if necessary) to back in so i can make up for it when it's time to go. especially in parking lots where there are cars parked on both sides.
after the bank, we headed to the library for a short while. my daughter had a play date scheduled for later in the afternoon so we didn't stay as long as usual.
about 10 minutes after we got to the library i got an urgent call from my momma. she just needed to vent to relieve some tension but her call took up almost all of our library time. my daughter was a lit bit miffed about it and let me know. she wanted to find books on travel to france and my mother was eating into her time, you see.
i made a pit stop at the dollar store and was harassed the whole 30 minutes by my daughter, who was anxious to get to her play date. of course the store didn't have the one thing i went there for (a sunshade for the car window) so we settled for consolation prizes: a trash can for the bedroom, chips to go with our hotdog dinner, paper (cuz we can't get enough of it 'round here), and a few other items that i can't remember. '-)
we arrived home one hour after scheduled play date. it was cool tho cuz my daughter's friend lives right downstairs. i got my chap to change her top and we went downstairs to hang out with our new friends. :-)
we had a wonderful time. the critters played together and i had 3 1/2 hours to relax with a new friend :-) we watched the ankle biters play, ate and drank tasty food and drinks, and talked. it was so nice to see that women around the world share similar issues when it comes to love, family, work, etc.
this sho is a nice place to live y'all.
i'm thankful.
