82: the 3-day apple fast

i am a firm believer in intuition and intuitive living. right now, my body is definitely telling me it's time for an overhaul. it's actually been telling me for some time. i've been ignoring it for too long and i can see the consequences.

i've been doing more research on the 3-day apple fast and i've decided to give it a go. after attending our sunday spiritual sustenance service, we stopped at the nearby healthy foods store. i bought 16 organic apples (3 different types, 2 green because i don't really fancy the red). i figured 5 apples a day and lots of water should be enough to fill me up. if i run out of apples, i'll have to make a mad dash to one of our local grocers that carries organic produce. a few of them do but since the store nearest our "church" is a healthy foods store and we were already in the neighborhood, i figured it was better to get them there.

so everyone, i'll be starting my cleanse tomorrow. this should be interesting for me. i don't think i eat a lot of food but i have fallen back into the nasty habit of eating things that aren't good for me. that's in addition to eating the good stuff.

but i think it was gary null who said we wouldn't put crappy gas in our cars in and expect them to run well so why do it to our bodies? so even tho i'm eating some good-for-me foods, the bad ones cancel them out. or maybe neutralize them? i'm not sure. but it can't be doing much good or i'd feel a lot better than i do.

it's not hard to figure out which foods are bad for me. they're the ones that make me feel bloated/nauseous/drowsy/headache-y/constipated/gassy/heartburn-ish, etc. after i eat them. that list includes fried foods, anything with ginger, white potatoes, most dairy products, processed foods, bananas, tomatoes, peanuts...

someone suggested (not to me personally, but to fasters in general) that i detail my fast in writing: the issues that may crop up--mental, physical, etc.--because this fast is cleansing and will bring out ALL the toxins; note and monitor any places in/on the body that become painful; don't overtax the body with too much exercise, etc. mostly a lot of common sense stuff any way. i think it's important to schedule a fast for a time when you can be at home relaxing as opposed to having to go to work, care for small children, captain the space shuttle, or deal with other such intense goings on.

any way, it's almost 12:30. i gotta get up by 10 and out by 11 cuz we have a 'pointment at noon. i think i should be okay with my hot water and lemon juice and an apple before we go. i'll take one in my purse and a bottle of water for the ride home.

i'll report in after midnite to let y'all know how i'm making it.

nitey nite.
